How Does CBD Work?

CBD stands for cannabidiol – one of the many different compounds, known as cannabinoids, found in the cannabis plant. THC is the other most common cannabinoid. Cannabinoids are unique because they act on cannabinoid receptors that are part of the endocannabinoid system found throughout the body.

Decades of research shows that your endocannabinoid system (ECS) is primarily responsible for managing homeostasis: your body’s natural condition of balance. Everything from your temperature, blood sugar levels, pain sensation, sleeping, inflammation responses, CO2 levels, etc., need to be actively regulated within a narrow range of error to ensure optimal health.

CBD functions by binding to cannabinoid receptors in the body’s endocannabinoid system. These receptors have been found in virtually every cell and tissue type in the human body.

Is CBD Natural?

Yes, CBD is a 100% naturally-occurring chemical compound that comes directly from the cannabis plant. It is not synthetically made.

How Is CBD Made?

Nearly pure CBD is isolated from the other cannabinoids found in hemp oil. Hemp oil is extracted from the cannabis plant and contains the full range cannabinoids found in the plant. Pure Plan CBD Oil uses a non-toxic and non-flammable CO2 extraction method. Prevalent in the food industry, and “generally regarded as safe” by the FDA, CO2 extraction eliminates the risk of solvent residues in the final product.

Will I Get 'High'?

No, all of Pure Plan CBD Oil Products strictly adhere to Utah State Regulations stating THC percentage must be .3% or less.

Is CBD Legal?

Yes, thanks to the passing of the 2018 Farm Bill, CBD with 0.3% or less of THC is legal in all 50 states according to Federal Law.

How Is CBD Oil Extracted From The Plant?

There are many ways to extract CBD oil from the Cannabis plant. The CO2 extraction system uses CO2 as a solvent to extract the oil. CO2 solvent is considered a cleaner, purer form of extraction because there is no residue after extraction. To isolate the individual compounds (CBD being one of them), the oil is distilled after extraction.

Are Hemp Oil and CBD Oil The Same Thing?

No. While CBD oil and hemp oil come from different parts of the cannabis plant, CBD oil is derived from the whole plant, while hemp oil comes from its seeds. Hemp seed oil contains no active CBD.

What Are Terpenes?

Terpenes are aromatic, volatile compounds found in plants. You have encountered terpenes every time you have smelled flowers or gotten a whiff of fresh fruit. There are over 200 terpenes found in the cannabis plant. They are what give cannabis its distinct aroma and flavor. Terpenes have beneficial effects and work synergistically with cannabinoids.

How Is CBD Taken?

CBD can be taken orally by placing it under the tongue, allowing it to dissolve and be absorbed, or ingested in capsules and edibles. CBD can also be added to ointments and lotions for topical use or inhaled using a vaporizer. The method of ingestion or application plays a significant role in how quickly CBD enters the system.

Since every body metabolizes differently, CBD dosing is a relatively inexact science. Some people experience the best CBD effects at a lower dose, while others experience the best effects at a higher dose. Start by using the recommended dose, and adjust as needed. With some trial and error you should be able to find the right amount for your body.
